Public Art 2.0
is an innovative approach practiced by Albus Cavus that combines the qualities of traditional public art process and participation of the users of public space that features the artwork.
We believe that all parties that are directly connected to the work of public art should be actively involved in the process of selection and execution of the work. The artist that creates the piece, sponsor that provides resources, the owner of property, public representatives, and lastly, the community, that uses the public space daily and is the ultimate audience should have the voice in choosing art that fits the place of installation.
Additionally, the direct participation of the audience is encouraged. All users of the public space are invited to actively and creatively add to the final product, suggest new projects, and as a community self-censor anything offensive and vulgar. We understand this process has not been used and practiced anywhere else. Albus Cavus is an innovator in this experimental approach to public art process.
